Island Reach acts aboard Research Vessel Llyr, and by air, truck, and small boat, reaching remote communities across Vanuatu to build conservation capacity and facilitate peer-to-peer networking.
Under a small grant, Island Reach is promoting gender equity for conservation initiatives by catalyzing a women's environmental network across CEPF priority sites.
In August, Island Reach supported seventeen women from six provinces, including Santo, Gaua and Tanna (CEPF priority sites) to attend the 2017 Vanua’tai AGM and represent the Vanua’tai women’s network.
During the five day AGM, participants developed their knowledge and understanding of various concepts relating to biodiversity and conservation in Vanuatu through a combination of practical, theoretical and gender focused workshops.
