The Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation (DEPC) is celebrating a milestone of the Department with the launching of its website by the Director General (DG) of the Ministry of Climate Change, Mr. Jessie Benjamin.
The launching took place Thursday this week at the VMGD Conference Room (Ministry of Climate Change).
There is a lot of information in the new website with Environmental forms that can be downloaded via the address: https://depc.gov.vu or https://environment.gov.vu.
The DEPC has been working on this website for sometimes in the past and the link was not effective and so this new website has been in development with the help of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) project.
“The DEPC Website is a great achievement to the department that links everyone with the department of environment of what we do,” said the Director of DEPC, Mr. Reedly Tari.
The website allows people to see the organizational structure from the ministry down to each division and how they are linked to various activities that the department deals with.
It allows users to download forms from the website instead of going all the way to the office to collect forms for Environment Impact Assessment (EIA), Community Conservation Areas (CCA) and other forms.
“Environment was just a small unit, until now it has grown its department with more workers and involvement with different developments happening around Port Vila and Vanuatu,” said Jessie Benjamin, Director General of Climate Change.
The website was successful through the hardworking teamwork of the staff of DEPC.
The DG congratulated the Director of DEPC and his hardworking staff in accomplishing a very important goal for this department.
The DEPC can also be contacted through their website under ‘contact us’.
